A CALL
TO ALL IN THE REGIMENTAL FAMILY!
A call is going out to all British Columbia Dragoons,
including those who have served in the past and their families as the
Regiment begins to plan for the celebrations of the Regimental Centennial
in 2011. The Regimental family is being called to gather for this significant
event in both the Regiment's and the Okanagan Region's history.

Since the beginning of the last century with the
establishment of 'B" Independent Squadron, Canadian Mounted Rifles
in Vernon in 1908, leading to the creation of the British Columbia Horse
Regiment in 1911, the ancestral unit of the British Columbia Dragoons,
there has been a military presence in the Okanagan. This tradition of
military service continues today as active members of the Regiment continue
to serve the community here in the Okanagan and in Canada's interest's
abroad. They lead a column of troops over 10,000 strong that stretches
back to the beginnings of the Regiment... that's how many Okanagan men
and women have served in the Regiment as it approaches its centennial.
A BCD Centennial
Committee has been set up and has begun planning for the centennial.
Check this page regularly for more infromation on the centennial as
plans continue to develop.
